NOT FEELING WELL: SHOULD I GO TO HOSPITAL OR NOT?
WHY DOCTORS ARE LOOSING THEIR TRUST?
If we really belief in God then he will bless us with health and wealth. God will not come to help us directly, but he sends some messengers to help us. For example, he created ''MOTHER'' to look after us, ''FATHER'' to take our responsibility and ''TEACHER'' to guide us.
If we are healthy then we can gain wealth through our hard work. If we are sick then we can't do any kind of hardwork. So health is the most important wealth for human being blessed by god. To serve his creature and to heel patients from pain, God created a messenger called ''DOCTOR''.
It is sad reality where we consider as the second god to people, they have been fitnessed as doing unethical, fraudulent, unscrupulous, and unexcepted practices in their medical profession which is a hindrance to the society. Talking about the unethical practices in the medical includes benefitting at the cost of the patients, charging more fees from the patient, government doctors focussing more on private clinic and the lack of consumer court for the patients.
The whole scenario is built in such a manner that patient is tied up in a never opening knot by the hospital. They are forced and pressurized indirectly to take treatment from the same hospital and endure many test which may not be required. The patient and his family is cheated by the doctor with his full team in the hospital.
SIX PRINCIPLES OF THE MEDICAL ETHICS
AUTONOMY : The patient has the right to refuse or choose his or her own decisions.
BENEFICENCE : There is little opportunity to do good here other than respecting her/his wishes and offering easy access to us.
NON-MALEFICENCE: Respecting his/her wishes and not causing the distress of investigations and a possible serious diagnosis.
JUSTICE : Patient should get treatment on the merit of illness.
DIGNITY : Patient and the doctor both have the right to dignity.
TRUTHFULNESS/
HONESTY : The patient deserve to know the whole truth about the illness and treatment.
These are some o the medical ethics which has to be followed in medical profession but are rarely seen and this properly justifies our topic of concern.
Recently few month ago, a hit movie called ''GABBAR IS BACK'' by actor Akshay Kumar was released which was based on the unethical business practices which is prevailing in the society was shown. This movie was criticized by the doctor and was in argument that this movie should be banned and all shows of Akshay Kumar should also be banned. This story is a true example of criticism shown by public and have given some proper compensatory measures to overcome this problem.
DISSENTING DIAGNOSIS: VOICES OF CONSCIENCE FROM THE MEDICAL PROFESSION
- It has been a great source of help to society to curb out the major causes behind the whole hindrance as this book witnessed the over all analysis of the all country doctors and the practices being undertaken.
- Doctors said in a report that they are bound to corrupt or cheat patient as they are not getting full payment from the hospital so they are unable to meet the necessity in their life which results in practicing unethical practices.
- Books also says it is extremely important to know ones legal and constitutional rights. Failure to know and utilize these rights leads to their erosion and possibly making himself/herself getting deeper into trouble.
- Psychology of a doctor was illustrated to the patient so that a patient can understand how to react in a problem or situation.
- To deal with this situation, compensatory measures have been initiated.

This book has been one of the bestseller that deals with the hindrances prevailing in the society.
Taking some of the examples that justifies unethical practices in medical profession:
- Once a lady went to the hospital for appendix operation but as a result her one kidney was taken out during the operation without her concern.
- There was a case in Siliguri, where the patient had died before reaching to the hospital but doctors created the fake scenario that he was alive and conducted many expensive test and operation and as a result he said to the patient's family ''SORRY WE TRIED OUR BEST''.
- Once a person in Burdwan got brain stroke and he was taken immediately to the hospital and the doctor's operated him but couldn't save the patient but they said to his family members that he is alive and admitted him in ICU and kept him in ICU for 3 days for their profit in making money.
- There are many cases where Doctor who are not eligible for serious operation performe the operation and cheat the patient by taking the high fees
- A man went to the hospital for regular checkup of his leg which was fractured but have done his knee replacement surgery which was to be done to other patient.
- In today's scenario most of the common example of this fraud practices is C-section operation, doctor are making patient and her family to get flow in emotional by saying that ''CHILD IS IN DANGER OR MOTHER IS IN DANGER'' by listening to this they decide to do C section operation and get operated, but if we go deep we can find out there is no such hindrances in womb. Doctor are doing this surgery for saving their time as well as to make maximum profit(applicable in most of the cases).

Suggestions to overcome the above situation are as follows:
- The Medical Council of India should be reformed by introducing certain code of conduct that bound the hospitals not to perform such fraudulent activities and punish them for their unethical practices.
- An uniformity in rules can be ensured in all the states by enabling them to follow the same Medical Establishment Act so that autonomy is there and some compensatory measures can be adopted.
- Awareness campaign should be conducted for the people so that their is less chances of being corrupted by the doctors.
- Patient should always consult second doctor before taking major steps by listening to the first doctor as this is his/her right to know the actual disease.
- Raids should be implemented to the labs, hospital, clinics, etc., in order to punish those fraudulent practices which is prevailing in the society.
- Consumer court should be opened for the medically affected patients.
Hope you all got my views about this..! I will feel happy If you people react and share your views for the same..!
THANK YOU!

ReplyDeleteExcellent 👍
ReplyDeleteAwesome content !!👍🏻
ReplyDeleteThough there are very good laws made for proper functioning of society but these rules are not followed and sometimes even the person who commited wrong is not entitled to any compensation. So who will take the responsibility if the rules made are violated ?Point to be noted that we are in the business of law not in the business of justice! So whom shall we seek for justice if the harm is done to us?
ReplyDeleteThough we have national medical council for registration of complaints and can contact state medical board for such issues.. The challenge was how fast are going to get justified
DeleteInformative.
ReplyDeleteVery helpful
ReplyDeleteGreat written
ReplyDeleteWhat about follow-up care?
ReplyDeleteFollow up care involves regular medical checkups, which is including a bloid test and a physical exam.
DeleteThis care is given to a patient over time after finishing treatment for a disease.
Excellent, keep going
ReplyDeleteThere are many doctors who does not follow the principles of medical ethics. As best example of private hospital and the doctors in villages What should we need to solve it out?
ReplyDeleteI think as most of the India's population is in Rural Areas it wpuld be better to start with them..

ReplyDeleteWow excellent..
ReplyDeleteNext people spend crores of rupees to build a hospital and to recover that amount they get into this fraudulent as they are into business not into social services so isn't government responsible for this too as they don't provide any additional support to the private hospitals
ReplyDeleteHospitals or Government aren't the only profitable here.. The budding health insurance companies are having their growth base with hospitals..so called additional support to them
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWe cannot blame doctors all the time. Because they are being used by the hospitals of big businessman. No doubt they are being paid a huge amount to keep their mouth shut. So Govt should look after the malpractises done by the hospitals and their overchargings
ReplyDeleteBlame is Blame ..!
DeleteIts not abt doctors or Govt.. Doctors are individuals and govt. Is a system.. Change have to start from an individual which will inturn brings change in system..Doctors in responsible to the position they are attaining have to follow
Osm content 👍
ReplyDeleteAll the points mentioned here are relevant but theirs some point which are not discussed...
ReplyDeleteFirstly the disparity between the fees of medical colleges for students based on their marks.
The topper gets the maximum benefits , compensation, scholarships etc.
Disparity between students is not new.. Its yesterday now and probably tomorrow also.. Thing is When in good old days people without having that percentage of fradulent activities have solved many cases and with all new technologically sound equipment we couldn't increase the worthiness of health
DeletePrivate studies of medical should also be restricted. As people try 2 overcome d charges of private studies..n starts thinking as a business mind. People thinks dt if one becomes doctor der life is settled even the parents insert diz mindset 2 der childre. Instead of diz mindset if we teach our young one dt being a doctor means sacrifice..dn i guess from grassroot level diz kind of fraudulent would come 2 an end
ReplyDeleteThis all happens when they are thinking to earn money than to service .. Motto is to serve the people as per the doctor any time.. Private institutions can't be totally reaponsible for this as I think..
DeleteExcellent work..
ReplyDeleteNice idea
ReplyDeleteExcellent work! What do you feel that upto what extend can the reform measures that you suggested in the concluding part could clear up the image of fradulent makers in the eyes of people? And what more can be done to make the process simple and make people trust on doctors for every small thing required.
ReplyDeleteI feel if all the remedial measures which I've mentioned are taken 60% cases would have solved early.Other than warnings making the fradulents realise the mistake and inturn Govt. Should plan how to (collect)earn money from doctors which also helps in economic development.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea keep it up 👍 this is very very important
ReplyDeleteI strongly agree with you on every point.. Specially on 1,2 and 4th..there must be some set of rules and conduct for the doctors. . Also relatives must be informed everytime whether they've given their patients in safe hands. If not they should shift it urgently to better Doctor.
ReplyDeleteI cant tell how much pain nowadays I'm going through., coz because of these kinda negligence I lost one of my childhood friend SYED NUROOL AIN 5days back.
Just wanna thank you for writing this!
Please take an initiative! Will be there for any help. #Hatsoff.. Reach to government officials with this so that Strictest possible measure can be taken n deaths n fraudulent practices must be, stopped.
Thank you for your sincere comment and by hearing the incident about your friend i am really feeling bad and it is very good to hear that you have taken this step and went to the govt. officials and complained the file.
DeleteAny advice on an ethical issue for case report ?
ReplyDeleteI have tried to cover the points in my blog you can get help from it.

The blog would have been more effective if you had provided some references like youtube videos of the victims or the news published on trustworthy news portal for all the aforementioned unethical practices in medical professions.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your valuable comment. I will take care from next writing and wait for my next blog there i would take your suggestion and write the refrences.
DeleteExcellent content !
ReplyDeleteWhat do you think should a person go to a doctor if feels ill or should wait for sometime?
ReplyDeleteOfcourse they have to consult a doctor, it depends on the seriousness of the patient weather he/she should visit the doctor urgently or not
Deleteyou have presented exact information of medical corruption.but what do you think only doctor is responsible for this?
ReplyDeleteBlaming only doctors will be wrong in this case, I would say The Society as a whole is responsible for this unethical practices as they dont raise their voice after knowing the whole thing of this corrupted policy.
DeleteThe doctors work is to treat patient not to earn money. Nice blog ..
ReplyDeleteGood content
ReplyDeleteNow coming to the topic of fraudulent why doctors who are known as next to good does such fraud and also why does the hospital support this kind of inhuman activities?
ReplyDelete"MONEY" is the factor which is responsible for all this fraudulent practices which is prevailing in the society. To meet their daily needs or to lead a luxurious life one have to earn money and the process of earning this money is unethical.
DeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteSo how do I stop the bad doctors who are willing to cut on people with no longer reason?
ReplyDeleteThere are many ways nowadays for controlling or stopping this unfair/unethical practices. Consumer courts are there who can help us out the only thing we have to do this to raise complaint.
DeleteNice idea
ReplyDeleteVery nice work 👌🏻
ReplyDeleteNice concept Such post will definitely bring a boast to the society.
ReplyDeleteTreating at his best is the ideal think which should be more prior for a Doctor.
To make people and consumer aware from this unethical mean practices was my prime focus. I am obliged that you got my point.
DeleteNice work 👌👌
ReplyDeleteThere are still some doctors who are just doing business and yet there are some doctors who are just treating the patient this way.so,i think Government should be more careful in this regard
ReplyDeleteTo earn money is not a bad thing done but earning money with unethical practices is the wrong way. Government have provided many options to file a complaint regarding this but we the consumer/society are not taking part in complaints.
DeleteExcellent conten
ReplyDeleteI was once incorrectly billed by my doctor! What should I do after this?
ReplyDeleteFirst thing is that you should not lost your bill, secondly you can go to that particular hospital and claim about the extra charges and in case they deny you can go to consumer court which is available for us.
Deleteso how do we stop doctors who overcharges patients unnecessarily?
ReplyDeleteThere are many ways mentioned in the blog you can choose any one of them.
DeleteWhy doctor are not responsible for their duties ? There are many facilities provided but still people doesn't get best treatment.
ReplyDeleteDoctors nowadays are more concentrated to earn more n more money to live a luxurious life which is the result of unethical practices and which is not allowing the doctor to perform their duties.
DeleteYa this is true today some doctors are loosing their trust bcz for a small injury they were charging high cost
ReplyDeleteYes Mr.Amit the charges are very high just for a single visit they just say to pay the huge amount for a single consult.
DeleteWhat about the other doctors who were giving free treatment to the patients around the world ?
ReplyDeleteNowadays this case have become exception, but yes there are many dr. who are still in this ethical view. They are no doubt the messenger of God.
DeleteDoctors should not charge a very high price for small cutouts or small wounds. Because of their high charge there are people who disagrees to visit hospital. Just that they can't actually afford. Doctors should actually stop taking advantage of the patients.
ReplyDeleteAs I have mentioned doctor are the messenger sended by God they should be kind enough to cure the people. Yes they have completed their degrees which cost high fees bt recovering the money from poor is not good and yes minimum fees should be taken.
DeleteTreating at his best is the ideal think which should be more prior for a Doctor. Why doctor are not responsible for their duties ? the victims or the news published on trustworthy news portal for all the aforementioned unethical practices in medical professions.
ReplyDeleteDoctors have forget their duties they are moving towards the luxurious life which needs money. And ones the money is someones biggest need they forget all the duties.
DeleteDoctor should not charge very high prices for small problems
ReplyDeleteYes and in case they are doing so we are responsible to file complaint in consumer court.
DeleteDoctors should know their responsibilities and should work accordingly but should not charge very high rates
ReplyDeleteYes your opinion is good as i have mentioned here in this blog the points. Yes fees should be minimum to visit the dr.
DeleteI believe I was incorrectly billed by my doctor. What should I do?
ReplyDeleteYou can file a complaint in consumer cout in case they (hospital) refuse to pay the extra charges.
DeleteVery well written , came to know to truth about Indian hospitals and it's a sad reality
ReplyDeleteHigh visiting charges by the doctors is really one of the reason that people don't go to those highly qualified doctors , but just look at the consequence , they are actually getting wrong treatment just to go cheap. Then isn't it true? That we are suffering and getting mistreated just because we want to save money?
ReplyDeleteIn some cases there are certain clubs and melas giving free checkup.if we take Rotaract as example they render their free services. Awareness must be created amongst such people then equality is served..
DeleteWhat do you mean by Merit of Illness?
ReplyDeleteWork ethic is the belief that hard work breeds self-satisfaction and that performing one’s duties diligently enhances one’s character. Working with integrity and an intrinsic motivation leads an individual to work to the best of his abilities with devotion to his work. People with strong work ethics perform their work with 100% dedication. This makes them stand out from the rest who may try to dodge hard work. Those with a strong ethic never lose focus from their goals. They put persistent efforts, leading them to produce high-quality work consistently.
ReplyDeleteBe it any kind of work, a strong ethic always works in favor of the individual and the organization he is serving. Here is a collection of work ethic quotes on hard work, motivation, and integrity.
Your thought are really very humble and creative and i appreciate it and i will take regards from your comment and try to implement this in my life and also try to come up with new blog regarding this.
DeleteIt is a well written blog.
ReplyDelete1) I think, Patient should have to take a consultation of 2 to 3 doctors if its not emergency.
2) Govt, should increase the standards and salary of doctors in govt. hospitals, so there should be no concern of doctor's to take fees from patient.
I think, this could be best solutions in order to make a end these scams?
Yes consultancy from few more dr.is very important.
DeleteIncreasing the salary in govt. hospital and attendence of them would be best option to stop the dr.going to their private cabins and charge fees but again budget of government should also be a part.
Well explain tanya you have mention both ethical and unethical part of hospital. You also take an example of movie gabbar is back that was really impressive....
ReplyDeleteTaking example of movies or any reality shows brings the glance of knowledge and one becomes more interested in reading the material.
DeleteIf a Dr commits fraud then whom should we report that ?
ReplyDeleteMedicare fraud can be reported to 1-800-HHS-TIPS(1-800-447-8477). You can also contact your local FBI or HHS-OIG offices or your state's Medical fraud office.
DeleteKindly Suggestme some more books .. to understand this concept more ??!
ReplyDeleteYes sure there are many books like:
Delete1. Introduction to business ethics
2. Medical ethics and laws for doctors
3. Doctors are god
4. Who says you are dead?
5. Becoming supernatural
6. The Ethical executive
I recently bought health insurance and now my medical bills are not being paid. No one answers the phone at the no.that I was given when I paid the premium.
ReplyDeleteAs you said if they dont pick the call or refuses to pay your claim, you have the right to appeal the decision and can have reviewed it from third party. They have to tell you the reason for denying your insurance.
DeleteThe main reason the public has lost trust in doctors is how they ignore serious symptoms and tell people it's in their head and nothing is wrong with them.
ReplyDeleteThey do this just to earn more money as the patient will come again n again and make the payment.
Delete"The good Doctors treats the Disease, the Great Doctors treats the patient who has the disease" . Doctors need to remember this.
ReplyDeleteWell explained the ideas and the concepts, blog was very Informative.
Yes Isha you are correct on your views and yes doctor have forget the ethics, aslo have forget that they are called as second god.
DeleteWe have to trust hospitals no matter what. Then how to take precautionary measures??
ReplyDeletePlease check the suggestions i have given in the article
DeleteThe doctors should be obliged to their duty and should not greed for money.Your topic chosen is very unique in itself.Well explained Taniya.
ReplyDeleteThank you for reading the blog. I am obliged that you got my view points on both ethical and unethical points.
DeleteVery informative and interesting information you have shared keep it up
ReplyDeleteI agree, I just think they need less oversight, not more.
ReplyDeleteThis blog focuses on the challenges of working in the health care industry and spends a decent amount of time covering health information technology. The guest posts are insightful, often sharing personal anecdotes readers can relate to.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your time you have given for my blog reading. They are facing challenges in medical practices.
DeleteYou have given the best information. Keep it up🤙
ReplyDeleteSince 2006, Medical connectivity has been sharing posts focusing on "patient safety, productivity, and patient and staff satisfaction." The blog focusses on a range of technologies instead of going specific, making it a good resource for those curious about multiple health health tech topics.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your valuable regards, in my next blog i will try to cover your view points.
DeleteA lot of medical professionals have a colleague who always seems to know which new medical device stands a chance of seriously improving health care. It's likely this colleague regularly peruses Medgadget, blog covering new technologies targeted towards numerous specialties
ReplyDeleteMedical devices are no doubt costly bt again it is an asset of hospital they can recover the amount slowly. But taking high prices at first glance makes it unethical for taking huge amount.
DeleteShould parents be able to edit their babies' genes? "If you had a baby with a congenital heart defect and a doctor could remove the gene, would you do it to save your baby's life? ...
ReplyDeleteThis is still in research, as this is going on but till then it have came up with the point that it depends on the surgeon and his capibilities that he/she will able to do it or not.
DeleteFor anyone's who found themselves both confused and frustrated when trying to do a little online research about health information technololgy
ReplyDeleteFirst of all confusion should be replaced so that result should be good oriented.
Deletephysicians who can describe their ethical concerns and use negotiating skills may be able to be able to change organisational polices that produce burnout
ReplyDeleteSince Physicians are a part of Medicos.. Negotiations should start from one unit.. Yes!we can consider this possibly
DeleteIt's really a big isse that how can we trust any doctor in this era where there is too difficult to trust anyone
ReplyDeleteYes, it is very difficult to trust someone in this era but we have to trust doctor before doing our checkups and have to take precautions/measures before trusting doctor.
DeleteI partially conveyed the same point mam..both have to go hand in hand.. Which I feel impossible in the near future..
ReplyDeleteI may be crazy but, the idea has been nagging me for some time that perhaps the biggest favor we could do for the people who are unaware of these kind of problems. It is the duty of a doctor to treat a paitient without seeking for their own profits. It is a developing problem in the society and is against the ethics and duties of a doctor. The relationship between a doctor and a patient should be of trust and honesty rather than of fraud and lies. This is an inspiring piece of work and will spread valuable information to the community.
ReplyDeleteSpreading awareness among the people was my prime objective to write this blog. I am very happy that you came across my points and gave your valuable time. As you said performing duties should be the prime focus of doctor, yes I agree with you making profit is a secondary thing a doctor should do.
DeleteI strongly agree with you on every point , ''MOTHER'' to look after us, ''FATHER'' to take our responsibility and ''TEACHER'' to guide us.this example taken above is really heart touching ....
ReplyDeleteThe patient and his family is cheated by the doctor with his full team in the hospital it is really unethical . Lots of poor people in the society but when he reach at the hospital for treatment there is charging more more money for his/her treatment its really unethical ......
I believe taking examples help the people to understand the topic more clearly and i am obliged that you got my view point. Unethical practices should be complained under the consumer court.
DeleteYes it's a true and people should aware about this fact that many of the hosptials do such kind of unethical practices.
ReplyDeleteReason for writing this blog was to make people aware of this unethical practices. Now i am happy that you got my views, tgank you for reading my blog.
DeleteHii.. Firstly i loved d way uu jst presented the thoughts of urs as ur wordnggs were so mch familiar n evry1 can understand that in its mch simplest way.Secondly yeah wat u jst mentioned in ur blog is a point of concern coz doctors were considered as d messengers of Almighty..n when in such a prestigious portfolio when dishonesty cames really mam its a serious problem.Ty so much fr raising such a issue via your blog...we have to change fr d betterment of society n it's a must.... ✌️..
